4 months on: a reflection on our BBC News feature
4 months on and it still feels like a pinch me moment. I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with BBC London News about Colour Celebrations, the purpose, journey and positive message it brings to families across the world. The joy alone would have made it special, but in addition it introduced my business to thousands of new families, babies, loved ones and allies who support what I do and why I do it. And for that I and so grateful.

We won! Made for Mums Awards 2021: The Editor's Choice
It is with great pride and joy that I announce we won a highly coveted Made for Mums Award 2021 for the Colour Celebrations Milestone Cards! It has been one of my goals since starting Colour Celebrations, being recognised by one of the biggest and most respected Parenting Awards bodies in UK, this feat has been made even sweeter by receiving the newly created Editor’s Choice Award.
“We come from two different ethnic backgrounds so these cards really are well suited to us! I liked the concept and that it included certain cultural aspects too, such as the naming ceremony.”
Created by the Made for Mums team to recognise brands which may have a specific application that’s perfect for some people but not right for everyone, the Editors decided to handpick brands and products which they really loved. And we were one of them! The team recognise the importance of representative children’s gift items further supporting the importance of our mission to celebrate colour, culture and heritage boldly and proudly. The award places this small, UK based, Mum-run business on an astronomical platform, spreading the message of inclusion, sharing information and providing conversation points to increase knowledge of the diverse and rich cultures our children are born into and surrounded by.
